What is a colonic?
A colonic is the same procedure as Colon Hydrotherapy. This is the infusion of water into the rectum by a colon therapist to cleanse and flush out the colon. Colon hydrotherapy, colonic irrigation or colon irrigation is also terms used for Colonic. Although colonics and enemas are similar, there are key differences between having a colonic and an enema.
Colonics are performed for the following reasons:
Removing excess waste from the colon
Prevent constipation
Improve overall health
Colonic is not a cure, but it does improve a variety of colon conditions. Toxic bowels are a source of many health issues. Colonics help to release toxins, cleanse the blood, boost the immune system and restore the PH balance in the body as well as re-hydrating the body.
Colonic cleanses the colon, exercises the colon muscles, reshapes the colon, and stimulates the reflex points in the colon.
Some of the benefits in health that have been experienced by patients who have had colonics include:
Overall feeling of being lighter – this is because the volume reduction in the colon has caused the organs above the intestines to relax, the liver, the heart and the lungs are all put under strain when the colon is not able to function properly.
Increase in abdominal muscle tone as well as relaxes the pelvic zone, hips and lumbar column.
Natural action of the intestines is restored which alleviates problems such as constipation and diarrhea.
Overall sensation of wellbeing – this is caused by the removal of the toxins, toxic waste that was not being excreted and excess gas.
Improves the metabolism as parasites which harm the metabolism have been removed.
Gynecological disorders such as cystitis and dysmenorrhea from a prolapsed colon are relieved.
Increase in mental capacity and rejuvenation as well as weight loss
The benefits are great! To feel better, look better and give yourself a new lease on life, consider having a colonic!

Importance of Colon Health
Although our intestines are not something that we think about, let alone talk about often, our colon is probably the most important organ in our body next to our heart. At one point or another each person comes into contact with someone who has a problem with their colon, whether this be Crohn’s disease, colon cancer or just a passing comment in conversation about feeling bloated, all of these are directly linked to the colon. With an increase in general health and more people being concerned about how healthy they are, the question arises “What is colon health?” and more importantly “How important is a healthy colon?” and should everybody get colon cleansing in New York?
The health of your colon is directly linked to the food you place into your mouth! Although this sounds obvious, how often do you consider how easily your body is going to digest that deliciously greasy MacDonald’s burger each time you sit down to have one? Each time you prepare a meal for yourself and your family you worry about how aesthetically pleasing the meal is, when you should also consider how well your body is going to be able to digest the meal.
As children, and in return for your own children, you were constantly reprimanded about eating your food slowly, chewing your food before swallowing. Many of you remember various stories or rhymes that your parents and grandparents taught you whilst they highlighted the importance of chewing food enough! It is important that food is chewed enough before passing into the digestive system, not only does it help the body to digest the food and absorb the nutrients, but food that has not been chewed properly cannot be digested properly and can result in the food becoming toxic to our bodies. All undigested food gathers in the colon before it is passed out of the body in normal bowel movements, when the colon is unable to perform correctly, the toxic waste has nowhere to go and the longer it stagnates in the colon the more chance there is that the body will begin to absorb the toxins from the waste instead of the nutrients it should be absorbing from other food which is being consumed!
A healthy colon is vitally important to overall health. The colon is a muscle in itself, and with contracting and reflexing actions it moves the waste particles along to the rectum for excretion. When you are on the lavatory and having a bowel movement, it is best for you to squat instead of sitting normally. The squatting position naturally disperses body weight onto the feet, causing the thighs to press against the abdomen. The pressure on the abdomen compresses the colon which creates the natural contracts in the colon to force the waste out through the anus. When one simply sits whilst having a bowel movement, there is unnecessary effort placed on the body and this can easily result in hemorrhoids or polyps.
Colon health has been linked directly and indirectly to a variety of medical conditions. Some patients have experienced that many of their health problems disappear after having their colon restored to a healthy state. Depending on the problem and the severity, this could at times require surgical removal of portions of the colon.
The best way to keep your colon healthy is to eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, a good quantity of fiber, exercise regularly, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, and do not ignore the body’s signals that you need to go to the bathroom for bowel movements!
